center
At AARADONC, we are Florida's only center 100% focused on veterinary radiation oncology. That means every aspect of how we work — our equipment, our protocols, our team — is designed around one thing: delivering the most effective radiation treatment possible for your dog.
Every dog cancer treatment plan is built from scratch for that specific patient — accounting for tumor type and location, overall health, staging, and what matters most to your family. Dr. DiBernardi personally reviews every case, bringing dual board certification in radiation oncology and medical oncology to each decision.
Radiation therapy is not the right answer for every dog — but when it is, the outcomes can be significant. Our first conversation with you is always honest about what is realistic, what to expect, and how we'll support you and your dog through every step of treatment.

Common canine cancers
that respond to radiation.
Radiation therapy is one of the most effective tools for many of the cancers dogs develop. Below are the most common — along with the protocol typically recommended for each.
Among the strongest indications for radiation in dogs. Carcinomas and sarcomas of the nasal cavity respond exceptionally well — radiation is the established standard of care and significantly extends survival.
CFRT · Curative IntentMeningiomas and gliomas respond well to stereotactic protocols. A few ultra-precise sessions can significantly extend neurological function and quality of life — with minimal anesthetic events.
SRS/SRT · CFRTHighly effective for local control after incomplete surgical excision. Radiation dramatically reduces recurrence rates and is one of the strongest indications for veterinary radiation therapy.
CFRT · Curative IntentAdjuvant radiation after incomplete resection significantly reduces local recurrence. Combined surgery plus radiation is the standard of care for high-grade STS.
CFRT · PalliativePalliative radiation provides meaningful pain relief and improved mobility for osteosarcoma. Most dogs show noticeable improvement within 1–2 weeks of beginning treatment.
PalliativeTargeted radiation protocols, often combined with chemotherapy, play an important role in multimodal treatment planning — particularly for localized or relapsed cases.

The right protocol for
your dog's cancer.
Protocol selection is made by our Radiation Oncologist after reviewing the complete case — cancer type, location, staging, and your goals as a family. There is no one-size-fits-all approach.
Gold standard for most solid tumors. Fractionated doses allow healthy tissue to recover between sessions while maintaining maximum tumor pressure.
Ultra-precise delivery of high-dose radiation in as few as one session. Ideal for small, well-defined tumors — extreme accuracy with the fewest anesthetic events.
Focused on quality of life. Particularly effective for bone cancer — most dogs show meaningful improvement in pain and mobility within 1–2 weeks of treatment.
